"I just wanted to let you know about the wonderful tuition my daughter received from Hampstead Village Tutors. When we first met Matt, my daughter's grades were an average B. With the help of Matt and his excellent tutors, she has received eight A*s and one B in her GCSEs. We will definitely be continuing to use your agency for the AS year! Thank you again to Matt and the team!"

About Us

Victoria has been tutoring for the last eight years. She has taught English to students of all ages, from primary to degree-level.

She has a wealth of experience in helping pupils who are preparing for GCSE and A-level exams, and those who are taking Common Entrance and consortium papers for entry to a wide range of independent schools. She has also tutored students for their scholarship exams to Eton, Westminster and Wycombe Abbey, and she runs the HVT 11+ and 13+ holiday revision courses.

She has successfully mentored students through the Oxbridge applications process, and has given dissertation support and in-depth tutorials at undergraduate level.

Victoria read English at Oxford and went on to RADA to train as a professional actress, subsequently appearing in several theatre and television productions. She regularly coaches students who are applying to drama school or preparing for LAMDA exams, as well as working part-time as an acting teacher for Kingdom School of Arts.

Matt has worked as an English tutor for over eight years, with students of all ages from early literacy up to Oxford and Cambridge entrance preparation and beyond. He has worked extensively with tutees at GCSE and A-level, with small groups in primary schools in Brixton, and helped applicants to succeed in their entrance exams for many of the top private schools in London and the UK.

Matt believes that tuition works best when complementing effective teaching at school, or when providing an outlet for struggling or prodigiously talented students who find that class lessons do not answer to their individual needs.

He has recently finished his first novel and has had a performance of his first play at RADA. His poetry has been published in Acumen. He has recently been shortlisted for the PENfro Book Festival Open Poetry Competition and the Sentinel Quarterly Poetry Competition.

Since the founding of the agency, Matt has worked closely with tutors of all subjects to bring the necessary support to tutees. He offers in-depth consultations to parents and students who feel they might benefit from what a professional tuition service can offer.

As director of Hampstead Village Tutors, he enacts Rule No. 1 of our agency: that everyone who works in our office must continue to teach.
